The app stores the information you log about your baby:
By default, all of this is stored locally on your device. It is not uploaded to us or to any third party. We do not require accounts, and we cannot see your data.
Not available in the current App Store version. Version 1.0 stores everything on your device only — nothing is uploaded anywhere. The description below applies to a future update that adds Family Sync, and is published in advance so you can see what it will involve before you choose to turn it on.
Family Sync lets two or more caregivers — for example both parents — log to the same baby profile from their own phones. It is off by default and only activates when you tap "Invite caregiver" or join a family with an invite code.
When Family Sync is on:
Not available in the current App Store version. Version 1.0 has no voice logging and never activates the microphone. The description below applies to a future update.
Voice logging is optional. When you hold the microphone button, the app uses your device's speech recognition to turn what you say into a log entry (for example, "logged 120 ml"). Audio is processed by your device's built-in speech recognition service (Apple's on iOS) under Apple's terms; the app itself does not record, store, or transmit audio. You can disable voice logging in Settings, and the app never listens unless you are actively holding the button.
App Lock is an optional setting (off by default) that requires Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode to open DenBaby, even if your phone is already unlocked. This authentication is handled entirely by your device's operating system — DenBaby never sees, stores, or has access to your biometric data. Turning App Lock on or off is available anytime in Settings.
Photos you add to your baby's profile, milestones, or sickness records stay on your device — they are not uploaded by Family Sync. The app only accesses photos you explicitly pick and never scans your photo library.
Medicine, vaccine, and feed reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No notification data leaves your device.
The "Export for pediatrician" feature generates a PDF on your device and opens the standard share sheet. Where you send that document is entirely your choice.
Without Family Sync, everything is stored locally: deleting the app deletes all of its data. With Family Sync on, deleting the app removes the local copy; the shared cloud copy remains for the rest of the family until the family owner deletes it (Profile → Leave family → Leave & delete cloud data). You can also delete individual entries inside the app at any time, which removes them for the whole family.
The app is a tool for parents and caregivers, and is not directed at children. The data logged relates to your child but is entered and controlled entirely by you.
DenBaby is a record-keeping tool, not a medical device. Growth charts and summaries are for your own records and are not medical advice. Always consult your pediatrician about your baby's health and growth.
If a future version of the app adds features that change how data is handled, this policy will be updated before that feature ships, and the app's App Store listing will reflect the change.
